Period viola bow, copy of original stamped "Fitzpatrick, Cork"

The original bow was probably made by a member of the Dodd family.  Fitzpatrick was most likely an Irish instrument dealer.

The original bow probably dates from around 1765 and has elements of an early transitional as well as a late baroque bow.  The length of  ~71 cm categorizes this as a "long" bow.
